| Just saw these at Great Fermentations. They are color coded and numbered. They are made to a certain specific gravity. Sterilize them and put 'em in your primary. As the beer ferments the bigger numbers (higher gravities) will sink. Lets you see the progress of your fermentation without risking contamination with a hydrometer reading. $25. Not sure its worth it, but still a really cool idea. [ image disabled ]

| They kind of look like a 'Galileo Thermometer' for gravity. I think it would be a distraction for me, just 5 more things to clean and sanitize. Plastic makes me paranoid anyway, after a couple of uses I would end up talking myself into chucking them in the trash. | | Back to top | |
